Depreciation
schedule
Enter the asset's cost, useful life and residual value, and see the depreciation schedule year by year.
The two methods
- Straight
Straight-line
(Cost − residual value) ÷ useful life, the same amount every year, prorated by months in the first and last years.
- Declining
Double declining balance
A fixed rate (2 ÷ life) applied to the book value at the start of each year, switching to straight-line when that becomes higher, and never going below the residual value.
